Art Natur-El® is owned by botanical artist, Virginia C. Peter of Dominica (Dom-ee-nee-kah, not to be confused with the Dominican Republic), a verdant island gem situated roughly halfway down the Caribbean archipelago.

The business name, Art Natur-El®, is derived from the product description: ‘Art that is made from natural materials, and is elegant.’

Virginia has had a flair for creativity from early childhood. However,it was not until 2005 that she began creating pieces of art for relatives and friends as presents. People who had seen those pieces now wanted to buy some of the unique works as personal possessions and as gifts to loved ones. This spurred the artist to pursue her novel concept of botanical art beyond the bounds of hobby and familiarity. Art Natur-El® was born!

Virginia’s inspiration for her choice of primary raw material – plant parts – derived from her love of vegetation and an upbringing that fostered resourcefulness, particularly, finding alternative uses for items that would normally be discarded.

Art Natur-El® is based in Dominica, aptly known as “The Nature Island”, where the primary material – natural plant parts - exist in lush and abundant variety. The sand that edges this rugged “Isle of Beauty” with its various colour tones is also cleverly utilised in Virginia’s work – albeit in modest proportions.

Virginia’s works have wowed the crowds wherever she has exhibited them.

Although still a very young enterprise, Art Natur-El® can already boast of a number of satisfied customers across the globe – in places as diverse as New Zealand, Europe, America, Canada and the Caribbean. This trend continues to grow as Art Natur-El® continues to make a bold statement, using natural materials in their natural state.
